After the Storm

It is cold here on the East Coast. I am longing for the gently warmth of the summer, sea breezes and waves hitting the shore. It is no wonder that I am painting seascapes to keep warm. After the storm, is a wave study I did in preparation for a another landscape that I am planning to paint.

This is monochromatic. It was done with ultramarine blue and titanium white. It took about a half an hour to complete. While this not exactly the waves I was after, I am pleased with the overall sense of movement that the waves convey.

I will try to get a better picture tomorrow, if the sun shines.
